Jeju is an island off the southern coast of South Korea in the Korea Strait. Mount Halla (Hallasan) dominating the island is a dormant volcano and there are underground caves with lava tubes to explore.

The island is also famous for the many orange trees that grow everywhere. You can buy fresh oranges and orange products any time of year. The most well known fruit is the hallabong. It has been grown here as early as the era of the Three Kingdoms, and were offered as presents to kings along with abalone as special products of Jeju. The specialty citrus of Jeju is something akin to an over sized tangerine which has a very distinctive plump bulge on its top. Its fame comes from its sweet taste and peelability.
